Biography of the prophet

ABDALLAH AND AMINA
Abdul Muttalib, chieftain of the Quraysh, had ten sons who were all worthy and outstanding, but Abdullah was the noblest and most prominent among them. (Ibn Hisham, Vol. I, p. 108) Abdul Muttalib wedded him to Amina, the daughter of Wahb Ibn Abdu Munaf, who was the leading man of Bani Zuhra. She (Amina) was the most excellent woman among the Quraysh in birth and stature at that time. (Ibn Hisham, Vol. I, p. 110)

Muhammad peace be upon him was born after the death of his father. Before his birth, Amina witnessed many an omen foretelling a great future for her son. (Ibn Hisham, Vol. I, p. 158)

السيرة النبوية

عبد الله و آمنة:
كان لعبد المطلب,سيد قريش,عشرة أولاد من الذكور كلٌ منهم شريف و بارز لكن عبد الله كان اكثرهم نبلاً و بروزاً (ابن حزم.المجلد الأول.الصفحة 108).
زوّجه عبد المطلب من آمنة,بنت وهب بن عبد مناف سيد بني زهرة.كانت آمنة يومها أفضل نساء قريش نسباً و مكانة .(ابن حزم.المجلد الأول.صفحة 110).
ولد محمد عليه الصلاة و السلام بعد وفاة والده.وقد رأت آمنة,قبل مولده,بشارات عديدة تنبئت بمستقبل عظيم لولدها (ابن حزم.المجلد الأول.صفحة 158).

BIRTH OF THE PROPHET peace be upon him
The Prophet peace be upon him was born on Monday, the 12th of Rab'i-ul Awwal (1) in the year of the Elephant. Certainly, it was the most auspicious day in the history of mankind.

Thus, Muhammad peace be upon him was the son of Abdullah Ibn Abdul Muttalib, Ibn Hashim, Ibn Abdul Munaf, Ibn Qusayy, Ibn Kilab, Ibn Murra, Ibn Kab Ibn Luayy, Ibn Ghalib, Ibn Fihr, Ibn Malik, Ibn al-Nadr, Ibn Kinana, Ibn Khusayma, Ibn Mudrika, Ibn Ilyas, Ibn Mudar Ibn Nizar Ibn Maadd, Ibn Adnan.

The parentage of Adnan is further traced to Ismail Ibn Ibrahim peace be upon him(2) by Arab genealogists. After the birth of Muhammad peace be upon him Amina sent someone to inform his grandfather. He came, looked at the baby lovingly and took him to the Kaba where he praised Allah and prayed for the infant. Abdul Muttalib then gave him the name Muhammad, which means, He who is praised. The Arabs were surprised at the unfamiliar name (3) given to the newborn babe by Abdul Muttalib. (Ibn Hisham, pp. 159-60

ولادة النبي عليه الصلاة و السلام:
ولد النبي عليه الصلاة و السلام يوم الاثنين, 12 ربيع الأول في عام الفيل.بالتأكيد كان هذا أسعد أيام البشرية في التاريخ.
هكذا فان محمد عليه الصلاة و السلام بن عبد الله بن عبد المطلب, بن هاشم, بن عبد مناف, بن قُصي, بن كِلاب, بن مُرة, بن كَعب, بن لؤي, بن غالب, بن فِهر, بن مالك, بن النضر, بن كِنانة, بن خُزيمة, بن مُدركة, بن الياس, بن مُضر, بن نِزار, بن مَعَد, بن عدنان.
و يمتد نسب عدنان إلى إسماعيل بن إبراهيم عليهما الصلاة و السلام و هذا تبعاً للعرب النسابة(هذا ما اكده علم أنساب العرب).بعد ولادة محمد عليه الصلاة و السلام أرسلت آمنة الى جده بالخبر.فجاء عبد المطلب و نظر الى الطفل بحنان ثم أخذه إلى الكعبة المشرفة حيث توسل و دعا الله لهذا الطفل.ثم سمّاه عبد المطلب محمد, و التي تعني المُثنى عليه.فوجئت العرب بهذا الاسم الغريب الذي لقّب به عبد المطلب المولود الجديد(ابن هشام.صفحة 159-160).

THE SUCKLING PERIOD

Thuwaybah, a bondwoman of the Prophets uncle Abu Lahab, suckled him momentarily for a few days while Abdul Muttalib continued to look for a wet-nurse to nurture his favorite grandson. It was customary in Mecca to place the suckling babies under the care of a desert tribeswoman, where the child grows up in the free, chivalrous air away from the cramp, contaminating atmosphere of the city, and learn the wholesome ways of the Bedouins. Those were the days when the chaste, unaffected and natural expression of the desert people was considered as the finest model of grace and elegance of the Arabic language. Together with the milk of a bedouin woman, the babies imbibed the fluent language that flew across the desert.

The people from the tribe of Bani Sad were known for the gracefulness of their speech. Halima Sadiya, a member of this tribe, ultimately came to have the precious baby under her wings. This was a year of famine wherein Bani Sad had been rendered miserable. The tribe came to Mecca to look for children to be suckled, but no woman to whom the Prophet of God peace be upon him was offered, agreed to take the child because none expected a goodly return for nurturing or nursing an infant whose father was already dead. They said, An orphan! What will his mother and grandfather give in return? At first, Halima also declined the offer but suddenly she felt a craving for the baby. She had also failed to get a charge for her and, therefore, before going back home, she returned and finally took the baby back with her. Halima found before long that her household was blest with luck, her breast overflowed with milk, the udders of her she-camel were full and everything seemed to bring forth happiness. The women of Halimas tribe now spread out the rumor: Halima, you have certainly got a blessed child. They began to feel envious of her already.

فترة الرضاعة:
أرضعت ثويبية, جارية أبو لهب عم النبي, مؤقتا لعدة أيام ريثما استمر عبد المطلب بالبحث عن مربية لحفيده المحبوب.و على عادة أهل مكة بأن يعهدوا أطفالهم الرّضع لنساء قبائل الصحراء,حيث ينشأ الطفل حراً طليقاً كريم الأخلاق بعيداً عن القيود و جو المدينة الفاسد,و حيث يتعلم طرق البدو الصحية.اعتبر, في تلك الأيام, التعبير الطبيعي لسكان الصحراء النموذج الارقى لجمال و سمو اللغة العربية.حيث تَشَرّب الأطفال, جنباً إلى جنب مع حليب النساء البدويات, طلاقة اللغة العربية التي حلقت في الصحراء.

عُرفت قبيلة بني سعد بجمال كلامهم.جاءت حليمة السعدية, إحدى نساء القبيلة لتضم تحت جناحها طفلاً عزيزاً.الا ان هذا العام كان عام مجاعة حيث قاست قبيلة بني سعد البؤس. و جاءت نساء القبيلة الى مكة المكرمة للبحث عن أطفال للرضاعة,لكن لم توافق ايٌ من النساء التي عرض عليها النبي عليه الصلاة و السلام على أخذه لأنهن لم يتوقعن أي عائد مالي جيد لقاء رعاية طفل يتيم.فكن يقلن:طفل يتيم... ماذا ستعطينا أمه و جده بالمقابل؟ و تجنبت حليمة هذا العرض في البداية الا أنها شعرت فجأة بتوقٍ شديد لهذا الطفل,و قد فشلت هي أيضا من جانبها في العثور على عًهدة لها,لذلك و قل أن تعود الى ديارها عادت لتصطحبه معها.و قبل مضي وقتٍ طويل,وجدت حليمة أن بيتها أصبح مباركاً, و جرى صدرها بالحليب,و امتلأ ضرع ناقتها باللبن و بدا كل شيء يتقدم بها نحو السعادة.و هنا بدأت نساء بني سعد بنشر الإشاعات:لقد حصلت بالتاكيد على طفل مبارك يا حليمة.وفعلاً بدؤوا يشعرون بالحسد تجاهها.

Halimah 's familly had always been very poor but this year things were harder than ever because there had been famine. The donkey that earned Halimah on the journey was so weak from hunger that he often stumbled. Halimah's own baby son cried all the time because his mother could not feed him properly. Even their she-camel did not give them one drop of milk. Halimah did not know what to do.
She thought to herself, 'How can I possibly feed another baby when I haven't got enough milk even for my own son?' Halimah did not want to take mouhammed peace be upon him either, but she did not want to be the only woman to go back to her tribe without a baby to bring up. She asked her husband whether she should take Muhammad (peace be upon him) or not. He advised her to do so, adding, 'Perhaps Allah will bless us because of him.'
When they were back home, everything began to change.
The land became green, and the date palms .. Even the sheep and their old she-camel began to give plenty of milk.
Halima weaned the baby when he was two years old, for it is customary upon the foster-children to return to their respective families at such an age. Besides, the boy was also developing faster than the other children, and by the time he was two, he was already a well-grown child. Thus, Halima brought the Prophet of God peace be upon him back to Amina but begged her to be allowed to keep the boy for some extended time as he had brought her luck. Amina agreed and allowed Halima to take Muhammad peace be upon him back with her.

كانت حليمة في فقر متقع دائما لكن في هذه السنة كانت الأمور أسوء من قبل بسبب المجاعة.حيث أن حمار حليمة كان ضعيفا جدا بسبب الجوع.و كان طفل حليمة يبكي كوال الوقت لان والدته لم تستطع إرضاعه كما ينبغي.حتى ناقتها لم تدر قطرة حليب واحدة عندها لم تعرف حليمة ما تفعل.و قالت في نفسها:كيف لي أن أرضع طفلا آخر بينما ليس لدي ما يكفي من الحليب لولدي؟لم تشاء حليمة اخذ محمد عليه الصلاة و السلام أيضا إلا أنها لم ترغب أن تكون المراة الوحيدة التي تعود الى ديارها بدون طفل.سالت حليمة زوجها فيما لو كان عليها اخذ محمد ,فنصحها بأخذه قائلا: عسا الله أن يباركنا به.عندما عادوا إلى ديارهم كان كل شيء قد تغير. فقد اخضرت الأرض,و أثمرا لنخل,حتى الخراف و ناقتها العجوز بدأت بإعطاء الحليب بوفرة.

فطمت حليمة الطفل عندما أصبح في سن الثانية,لأنه جرت العادة-على عودة الأطفال الرضع-الى أسرهم في مثل هذا السن.الى جانب ذلك,كان هذا الطفل ينمو أسرع من أقرانه,و عندما بلغ الثانية,كان قد نضج مسبقا.أعادت حليمة نبي الله الى آمنة إلا أنها توسلت إليها للسماح له بالبقاء وقتاً أطول لانه جلب لها الحظ السعيد.هكذا,وافقت آمنة و سمحت لحليمة بأخذ محمد عليه الصلاة و السلام معها.
